Movie Review Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi - Siddharth B.Sethia

This is NO DIRTY PICTURE...

Movie Poster Shirin Farhad ki toh nikal padi
The film’s connection with feminine curves and their varied dimensions stems from the fact that its chaste-at-heart male protagonist is a 45-year-old lingerie salesman who is still in search of the perfect woman.

The guy that is Farhad Pastakia played by Boman Irani, salesman at TEM TEM Bra and Panty Store, has spent half his life serving women of all body types without quite being able to get his arms around the shape that is best for him. And he for all this year’s kept asking, So what's your size is it 36D, 36B, 30A!!!???. Which one's you want? What style and pattern you want? And so on....

So when a '36B' Shirin Fuggawala which is played by Farah Khan comes into his store, his heart uplifts like for the first time; and he knows he's finally found his 'size'. Farhad Pastakia is a 45 year old working as a salesman in a lingerie shop and Shirin is still single as she has an ailing father to take care of. The conflict element in their "Love at First Sight" is provided by Farhad’s Mom who just can't forgive Shirin for a mere petty issue. How the two of them finally manage to unite in matrimony is the resolution to this flick.
Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi doesn't come across as a film on heartbreaks, heartaches or rona-dhona. This one's a feel-good entertainer. You wear a smile on your face as you exit the auditorium.

Movie Still Left Boman Irani, Right Farah Khan
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has written this movie and the comedy portions standout. Some funny scenes are built around Farhad’s profession. The first encounter between Shirin and Farhad’s mom is another brilliant funny sequence. The romance is also likable with several cutesy moments. Bela Bhansali Sehgal has directed this movie and she has presented this movie in an engaging manner with just a few glitches.

At less than two hours, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi demands little of you and delivers enough for you to not grudge spending time and money on it. I suggest you watch it for some honest moments and a lovable performance by Boman Irani. Overall I would this move 3 out of 5.
